Our blended engineering program is designed to engage youth through culturally informed vocational learning projects. This program is tailored to address the unique challenges in West Kimberley, where disengagement from education has led to antisocial behavior and criminal activity.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Apprentice Master to join our team in Broome. In this role, you will:
  • Work closely with young participants, guiding them through hands-on engineering projects.
  • Assist in the fabrication, assembly, and installation of metal structures.
  • Provide mentorship and share your expertise to help youth develop technical skills and confidence.
  • Collaborate with our team to ensure all work is culturally appropriate and aligned with the program’s educational goals.
  • Participate in creating a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters personal growth and reengagement with education or employment pathways.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Boilermaker or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of welding, metal fabrication, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work with and mentor youth from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to supporting First Nations youth and understanding of cultural sensitivities.
  • Willingness to contribute to a program focused on community development and social impact.
