APPRENTICE MASTER (MECHANICAL + WELDING MENTOR) BROOME, WA
START: MONDAY 2 FEBRUARY | 35 HOURS/WEEK (MON-FRI)

We run a hands-on youth program where young people (15-18) pull bikes apart and rebuild them into custom e-bikes. We need a practical tradie who can mentor and supervise participants on the tools, working side-by-side through the full build. You’ll demonstrate each step, keep solid workshop routines, and hold a high standard for safety and quality.

You’ll be doing things like:
Helping young people dismantle and rebuild bikes
Basic bike servicing (brakes, gears, wheels, chains etc.)
Helping with e-bike fit-ups (neat wiring, safe installs)
Running basic welding jobs (tack/weld practice, small brackets, simple fab bits)
Keeping the shed safe (PPE, tool use, supervision)

You’ll suit this if you:
Have trade/workshop experience (boilermaker/welder/mechanic or similar)
Can weld (basic welding + safe supervision)
Are practical, patient, and can explain things step-by-step
Can pass compliance (WWCC + Police Clearance)

Good to have (not essential):
Mentoring/apprentice experience
Local contacts for workshop/fab shop industry visits

After the 10 weeks:
For the right person, there may be a chance to move into a full-time role with a local partner organisation (not guaranteed).
